muzzle brake thread size
I have a CVA Scout V2 444 Marlin with a muzzle brake threaded on the end of the barrel. I have no idea what size those threads are and can find it listed no where in their literature or specs. I would like to replace it with a different design but without knowing the thread size I would not know what to order. Does anyone happen to know what those threads are?

I can only ASSUME it to be a standard size, 1/2-28 or 5/8-24. Ask someone to measure the diameter and find someone with a tread pitch gauge. With that big a caliber, 5/8-24 would be practical.

Would a thread pitch gage be expensive to purchase or similar in price to a feeler gage?

Thanks!! (palm slap to forehead) I did that and they said it was a metric 18X1 thread pitch. I forgot to ask the diameter, but I can measure that with calipers set on metric. I doubt it is in inches if it is threaded in metric.

18 x 1 Metric:

18.00 mm dia. (0.709")
Pitch is 1.00 mm
