jimatcati see that ruger is still teasing us with promises of a 9.3 x 74r in a tropical #1..... we oughta start a betting pool on which will be produced first... the #1 in 9.3 x 74 r... or the spartan/baikal in 45/70.... ive got both on order....

tomo577instead of JUST building no 1 in 9,3 x 74r ruger could build a double rifle on their new side x side double shotgun. would be easy to monoblock it

jstevensI'll bet one of these days they will build a cheap double rifle. This is kind of Ruger's style IMO.

congomikeI realize that Ruger knows best, but weren't there a few RSM's in 404 Jeffery produced? I know they were listed at one time in their catalog.
Also what model 77 was chambered for the 300 H&H, and does anyone have one, or has anyone seen one? Thanks in advance.

walksfarI was under the impression, that they were going to introduce the no.1 in .450/400 3".
I had dabbled through an article somewhere on the net about this, and someone had mentioned they had one on order I think.
Still too small of a caliber for the no.1 though, and they should, after all, just introduce it in .500 3".
Or enlarge the action by a 1/3, and get the .577, and .600 in there.
It is a shame that they can only go so far as the Lott in terms of power. Which, is good I suppose, as the Lott equals the .500, however, not in diameter.
They just need to introduce some REAL stopper rounds, in a beefed up action.
But, alas, I love my RSM Lott, so I'm not complaining. But, it is just so small to me, and has no kick or wallop. But then again, I'm crazy also, and do not speak for everyone, as recoil effects different people in different ways. Actually, I envy those who love small calibers. Their ammo costs less......

congomikewalksfar...why not buy a RSM in .416 Rigby and have it rebored to 500 A-Square...all the power of a 500 3" in a nice looking bolt action.

GarByA VERY helpful gal from Ruger answered my questions about the availability...or lack thereof...for the M77 in 404. It WAS listed in the 1994 catalog, but was never produced. I told her to tell the beancounters to introduce it...they may like the results....but I'm not holding my breath. I'd add one to my 375...I like their Magnum rifle....with a few "tweaks".

Idaho SharpshooterGet Ruger to call me, we need to talk about them building a 475, 510, and 550 (all full length)on the Gibbs case...that will separate the men from the boys, and any leftover $$$ from the boys wallets.
