I have a chance to purchase a A-Square built Hannibal rifle in .577 T-Rex. I am a little concerned with the recoil issue. I own a .458 Lott and a Barrett M99 .50 BMG. Any advice.
Thanks
Andrew

Energy of the .577 T-Rex is closer to .50 BMG than .458 Lott. But don't forget one thing on you Barrett you have a huge muzzle break on your A-Square any.

Welcome to the forum.
There is really no comparison between the recoil generated by these two rifle.
And despite what Art Alpin says, the 577 has a vicious kick.
I have fired it twice with max loads, and I honestly have no wish to shoot it again.
I am quite happy to develop loads for rifles like the 460 Weatherby, and shoot them off the bench. They do have quite a bit of recoil, but nothing compared with the 577 T.Rex.
Have a look at this video.

I think you should go ahead and get this rifle. You will have lots of fun with itD

What load was it in the film? was it a 750 grain bullet? at what velocity?

The loads you see being enjoyed by our friends on the videos has a velocity of about 2580 fps with a 750 grain bullet.

Tongo,
Have you watched the videos of "The Champions" firing the T. rex on Saeed's Video/Humor page? Grin and bear it.
