Best single stage press for 3" and longer cases?
I bought a R.C.B.S. "Black Max" A4 in 1982 to replace my elderly R.C.B.S. "Junior" and my Lee stuff and Hornady press; it has loaded my 9.3x74R and .375H&H rounds with no trouble.

I am considering a Redding T-7 for more speed with handgun rounds, or, maybe a Dillon XL-650.

I don't know the history of all the Rockchuckers. I have a RC 2 from the early '80s, and it was definately too small for my 470 when I tried it. I ordered the Ammomaster and it works fine, but I probably jumped too quick. I have since wanted to play with those all brass shotshell cases and the dies I have seen use 1 1/4 thread. The big Lee press talked about earlier on this thread can use them. My Ammomaster goes from the standard 7/8 dies to 1 1/2. I would have saved a lot of loot too.

Corbin does make a bushing that will adapt the 1.5"x12tpi hole in the RCBS AmmoMaster2 to accept 1.25"x12tpi dies.
The Corbin bushing is thin walled but precision timed in hardened steel, the only source I have found.
The 1.00"x14tpi bushing for the AmmoMaster2 is easier to find.

The latest RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme has the same stroke length with standard shellholders as the Lee Classic Cast press.
Same 1.25"x12tpi hole in the top.

Even if Lee has replaced the "toilet linkage" with better parts lately,
The RCBS Rock Chucker Supreme is still a better press.
Not that much more expensive either.
Worth the few extra bucks.

Another vote for the Corbin press. My Dillon RL550B works quite well for the rapid loading of the 9.3X74. But the Corbin has lots more room to move making it easier than all else I have tried for the X74 case and probably beyond. Just my mileage. Packy
