Anybody shooting...
Just taking a poll to see if any one shoots any of the other A-Square rounds, .495 A-2, .460 A-2 short, ect... If so how do you like them. Just wondering because you almost never hear any mention of them around here. Maybe for good reason? [Razz]

JR, I don't have any experience with some of their cartridges, but some look good on paper! There was a lot of talk about their factory ammo not being very good, when they were sitll in busness. One thing I would like to have is one of their loading books, as far as I know they are out of print! Like the JDJ cartridges most like to read about them, but simply don't bother to build rifles for them. I have a 411 JDJ that I've had for 5 years, and have never loaded a round for it! I think the A-Square falls into the same catagory, and is why you don't hear talk about them as much as other chamberings!

I know Art pretty well, I like his stuff, beyond that I cannot tell you much.

I have a couple of 50BMD rifles and I enjoy shooting the round. The 50BMD is basically a 2" 500A2 straight case (or a high pressure 50-70). They hold two in the mag and one in the tube with any BMG bullet seated on them. I like to fire my inexpensive BMG Ball bullets with it as reloading runs me about $.40 for the components and the brass get's worked so little that it'll take a lot of fireing before the brass goes bad. Incendiary and Spotter/Tracer bullets are fun also [Big Grin]
I have one for sale if you're interested. e-mail me.
