Guys am heading over to zim in 2 weeks time and am having trouble getting my R8 to shoot the woodleigh 350grn projectiles. So I have got some 300gr Tsx Barnes and need some load info using RL 15. I was thinking of around 70grns.

Factory ammo uses Norma 204 Powder- a bit slower than RL15 and slightly less energy per grain...

270grn TSA 81,8grns for 2760fps
300grn Oryx 84,5grn for 2700fps

And of course a magnum primer

I have Blaser R93 in .375H&H. I started shooting Federal Premium 300 grain Barnes TSX in it and I am confident I cannot reload to improve accuracy. It will shoot five shots into under an inch at 100 yards. You said you leave for Zim in 2 weeks, I would can the reloading and try some of the Federal Premium. Much simplier and much quicker particularly since you are under the gun time wise.

nickh, tread lightly when reloading for a Blaser. Their chamber specs are quite rigid, and some folks have had issues in reloading for them. Factory ammo would be the way to go. Their barrels are so well made, that they shoot almost anything well anyway.

My blaser R93 in 375 H&H loves remington 300gr
Swift A Frames. Recovered bullets held together very well and performed as advertised.

Thank you very much for the heads up on the BLaser. It is indeed the H & H 375.
Guess I will take the advice and try the factory loads ASAP. THe gun is my back up for buff , I am hoping to take buff and tuskless with my VC 500 double, but if we need to take a long shot at buff in poor light then the BLaser will get a run!

I wouldn't know about factory loads in a Blaser as I don't think I've shot any in my R 93. What I know is that mine in 375 H&H Magnum shoots 300 gr. Hornady Spire Points and FMJ roundnoses very well and to about the same point of impact at 100 yards. My powder; RL-15.

Sadly, though I really like my R 93, it doesn't shoot any better than my Encore handgun.

Nickh- The loads I quoted are for the .375BMNOT the .375 H&H - two totally different cartridges. Stuff that ammount of N204 into a .375 H&H and you's bend the rifle (or perhaps turn it into a mini hand grenade)

For a .375 H&H you would use 68,9grns of the faster burning 203B to match factory.

Of powder! I should have been more specific in my post. I doubt you could fit 80grns of
Powder and seat the Barnes properly in the H&H cartridge!!
