375 Ackley & 375 weatherby interchangability
Maybe a dumb question here. I know you can fireform 375 h&h ammo into both the Weatherby and Ackley versions. Can loaded Ackley and Weatherby rounds be fired in either rifle. By comparing loaded rounds, and looking at published case dimensions, it looks like the Weatherby can be fire-formed into the Ackley.

At a minimum, can you resize weatherby brass into Ackley brass?

I do not think the Weatherby brass will resize readily, but if you try it, be sure to anneal the case neck and shoulder area.

I tried to make a 7mm WBY into a 7mm Rem Mag one day (I was bored). The result was a total.....failure.

I have a 375 Ackley Improved and it will fire comfortably 375 H&H and 375 Weatherby brass and ammo. Please know that factory 375 Weatherby is loaded HOT and designed for Weatherby guns with considerable free-bore. 375 AI may be a bit too large for the 375 Weatherby guns. Regards, AIU

The reason I ask is because I have 11 loaded rounds of 375 wby that I loaded for a rifle I used to own. I now have a 375A.I. and looking at the dimensions and comparing them side by side, it looks like the wby will indeed fireform into the Ackley. But I wouldn't want to try it without confirmation. Thanks AIU.

I looked up my notes and those 11 rounds are loaded with a 270tsx and 85 grains of H4350 and did 2780fps out of a 26" barrel.
