making .500 brass from .470
Is it possible to make .500 3" brass from Norma .470 brass?
It looks like it's just to shorten the brass and neck up..
It seems like a much better solution with high-quality Norma brass than Bertram.
thanks

You would have to fireform (hold a 470 NE and a 500 NE x 3" side by side).

Is BELL/MAST making 500 NE brass yet?

Mast Technology already makes the 500 in 3 and 3 1/4. Seems a lot easier and a whole lot less trouble to buy it already made up.
Here's a link to their brass pricing page. On the occasions I have delt with Mast I have found them to be most helpful. Their brass for my 450/400 3 inch is the best I have found, bar none!Mast, Bell Ammo

Morten,

You can shorten and fireform 470 Brass into 500 NE Brass and it does work.

I would however recommend using ready made 500 NE Brass such as BELL from Mast Technology - it is alot easier and I have found that Brass can have a "memory" if it has been made from another calibre.

I use BELL 500 NE 3" in 500 x 3" Doubles and case life is excellent.
