This is a new one to me can you give me a few particulars on it? Is it a wildcat or is someone building it? If a wildcat what is it made from as far as cases goes? What sort of recoil does it have? Any info will be appreciated.

You might have heard of it as the 408Chey-tac.
The link given above is there home page.

It's based on the 505 Gibbs, improved and necked down. This case is between the 416 Rigby and 577 NE in size.

on the Chey-tac with Dr. Taylor.

Shot some of the first prototypes and that were bult on several different platforms.
Other then not having the throw weight of a fifty...it stomps all over it for accuracy, for velocity downrange.

In early bullet tests, it was getting 3" groups at 1800 YARDS. THe problem has been finding a scope that has enough adjustment in it can actually take advantage of the capability of the cartridge.
It shoots sub minute groups out to 3300 yds where it drops out of supersonic.

I only wish I could afford one of the complete packages.

I shot the rifle Dean Micalles owns (Windrunner) with the .408 platform on it in MN. Have been looking at it for a few years, but haven't jumped- yet . I'd probably get it in a Ruger #1 or other similar design. Strictly a toy, an accurate toy, but a toy nonetheless.
