Talley lightweight rings
Interested in the Talley lightweight 30MM rings. I have no need for Q/D everyone raves about. Contacted Talley and they said their lightweight steel or alloy rings would hold up fine with a 375 H&H and Leupold scope. Could someone please share their real world experience and opinions.
Thanks
201, I ordered a set of lightweights on Monday this week for my .375. I have them on two of my other rifles and they are superb.
I have no doubt that they will perform just fine on a .375.

TREE 'EMGood, simple, reliable mounts.
I have a set that was on a Rem 700 .308 for about 5000 rds then transferred to another 700 in .223.
No movement, no complaints.

sheephunterabTalley steel rings work well on a 375H&H but just for fun I tried their lighteweights on a 375 and I wouldn't hold zero. I use Talley lightweights on several rifles including a .338WM but that's where I suspect their usefulness ends. You should be fine on a .300.

drewhenrytntREAL WORLD Experience:
I'll never use Talley Light Weight ring-mounts again.
Pretty certain I kept the alloy rings that broke on my 375 H&H. They were Talley. They held zero for less than 100 rounds. At the range chronographing and sighting in when I had issues. Cranking the scope adjustments around made no difference. Went home and upon close examination found the rear ring cracked.
I'll try to find it and post pics. NightForce makes a Pic rail that fits Win Mod 70 H&H length actions. It ain't cheap, but it works!

AtkinsonI had a set of Talley lightweights on a 458 Lott for about a year and a half, then switched to QD, after I installed iron sights on the rifle and took off to the Selous..Those lightweights worked for me!! held their zero for at least 200 rounds..
I suspect failure with most of todays mounts is in the installation or from improperly ground actions that put a strain on the scope etc.
I can't imagine a scope moving in the rings when they come with torx screws or what kind of a lick it would take to break a ring..Some of the best sniper mounts are aluminum..Think I call

or a lack of know how, on some of this stuff. Talley has always produced great stuff and they back up their products.
