.425 WR or .404 Jeffery DGR in standard Mauser???
I am collecting parts and bits, to get a DGR custom build on some original Mauser actions I have come across (VZ or Oberndorf)

My friend "JefferyDenmark" suggests to get it build in .425 WR or .404 Jeffery, as they are the biggest, fitting in the standard Mauser Action without modification.

But we decided to hear you gentlemens suggestions on the topic!!!

Are they wise choices for a DGR? I like the idea of an original Mauser Action without too much modification, but I do not want to compromize on firepower either when it comes to choosing DGR??

Which are the best of the original Mauser Actions?? I have heard that the 09 Argentine should be some of the best ever coming out of "DMW"?? True??

Looking forward to hear your input on my dilemma!!

Hej Kammerat

The .425 Westley Richards is infact a .435 caliber and the .404 is a .423 Makes sence right

If a gunsmith can make the cartridge feed from the standard magazine or a slightly modified one it would make a awesome DGR for a fair price

I would go for the .425 WR

I am thinking Lother Walter barrel and some nice English walnut, masterpiece express sights and Barrel Band Swivel
