Robgunbuilder.600 Overkill brass has arrived
I just received the first 350 cases from Horneber. Test fired 15 cases today!!! To say the least they are beautiful! They fit both of my Guns perfectly. The last dimensional change was dead-nuts perfect. I am awaiting the rest of the shipment and will get the brass out to the dirty dozen ASAP. It's been worth the long wait I assure you! I have bought at my expense an extra 150 cases which I will provide to the worthy. NO TROLLS NEED APPLY!
To ScottS( JUDY. Mauser,Axel), Mike 375, Mickey1, Karl and my other detractors- before you post your crap, KISS MY ASS! Lets see any of you scum pull off a project like this!Remember truth talks and BS walks!!! Maybe you'll learn something but I doubt it!
By the way this will be my last post to you turds as I've moved on and will never again even so much as bother with the likes of you again. My honor is stained ,that I've even stuped so low as to vent my spleen at your idiocy. Shame on me! More SHAME ON YOU!I have no USE for YOU and will never reply to your dribble again.
To the folks who have supported me, Here is the .600 OK 3 inch shell. With a 900 gr woodleigh or Bridger it will do everything I've said it would. 2400FPS plus!Recoil is manageable and I intend to take it Buff hunting this year!Imagine that ScottS and Mike 375 a real life HUNT for Dangerous game. I'll do it with Paul Zorn the Zim PH and POST real PICTURTES TOO! I will help any of the dirty dozen get yours running and I will be there for you if you have problems. I have two guns that work flawlessly. I don't Lie and I don't run! Semper Fie!
I'm changing my By-Line as ScottS and Mike 375 your both not worthy of my Piss!Eat shit and DIE, BYE BYE-Rob

GrandpasezRob-How much and what kind of powder got you to 2400 and more?Ed.
10 February 2004, 18:04
smallfryRob I would be honored to buy a dummy off of you with the 900 gr wdly on it. I am excited to have seen this project unfold on these forum.
10 February 2004, 18:06
Robgunbuildersmallfry- My pleasure- No charge to you! send me E-mail and an address.-Rob
10 February 2004, 18:09
RobgunbuilderEd- I'll send you the load by e-mail. H414 is the way to go!-Rob
10 February 2004, 18:21
GrandpasezI figured it would be H-414. In straight strong based cases
like your 600 OK, RNS' 550 Mag, my 458 to 700 HE; H-414,
W-760, and WC- 860 surplus is absolutely the best for power, and
at full max loads of these powders, they stretch brass much less than starting loads of stick powder,Ed.
10 February 2004, 18:42
Lar45Ed, I'm not questioning, I was just surprized to see WC860 on the list as it's a slow burner. I don't have any WC860 as they were out when I ordered, so they substituted IMR5010 instead. How do you get the 860 to burn efficiently? With a duplex load to get it started? I tried some IMR5010 in my 45-70 BFR and chronied the loads. I now have several powder granuale sized holes in the display cover?

TIA
10 February 2004, 19:47
GrandpasezLar-5010 is quite a bit slower than WC-860 in my shooting
and load testing,And the WC-860 is
just a hair slower than H-414.And I might have had a
fast 860 batch. There are some batches of WC-852 that are about as slow H-414.And then there is fast WC-852 that
seems half way between W-748 and W-760 or H -414. Working with ball powders is the way to get the power. In testing heavy bullets in wildcats where we have not been before, I use the 5010 and go from there in steps to faster powder.
With my long cases and large powder volumnes, the relative quickness of the powder
speeds up a little, which is a factor, except it seems
in the 5010.Ed.
11 February 2004, 00:27
Nishoba01Mr. Gunbuilder, how much for 10 cases?
And where do I send my money too?
11 February 2004, 00:56
tontoRob
Good for you moving on is the best thing. If any of the dirty dozen would like to sell 10 to 20 cases have them let me know. Id like this to be my next project. Gonna do some milling on the enfield(470) the weekend
Thanks Dean

dakota45056Hi Rob, Congrats on successful 600 OK brass development. With all the interest, it may be the definitive cartridge for big bore bolt guns, over 500.
As we discussed, have gone ahead with project. Action and stock.
Thanks for assist! Dak
11 February 2004, 05:28
500grainsRob, that's great news! Thank you for all of your hard work on this project and for your willingness to include the rest of us in the birth of the 600 OK.
By the way, I have found both .585 nyati and .600 NE brass from Horneber to be excellent quality as well.
11 February 2004, 06:00
ScottSI am proud of you Mr. Garnick, job well done. Just to set the record straight, I never once said that you would not get 2400 fps with the 900 gr Woodleigh. I question the why, but not the ability of your wildcat to achieve it.
I would be concerned with the terminal ballistics of the 900gr Woodleigh SP and perhaps even their FMJ at 2400 fps though. If you are planning on hunting with the Woodleighs it may prove to be prudent to test them out on something not too dangerous first.
Finally, with regard to this wish of yours,

, I shall have to respectfully decline.

Lar45Ed, I have a jug of WC852 the regular lot I think. I've only tried in the 06 with 165's so far, but it seems to produce higher pressure to get the velocity that would seem normal with the powder charge. I don't have my load book with me, but I got bright marks on the case head just getting to 2800ish. I need a couple more jugs of WC820, maybe I'll try to get some 860 this time. I love surplus powder.

Well Rob since you ask, I did design my own 585 Wildcat project. One of the first unique versions since the Nyati and Trex came out I believe.
Built quite a few years before your 600.
Hopefully this precludes me from 'eating shit' and 'kissing your ass' etc.
Hell Ed.
You email us to settle down in defence of this behaviour?
Karl.
11 February 2004, 06:42
GrandpasezKarl-No there is no defence, from me, for bad words.By
Rob or anyone.Rob knows how I feel about the bad words,
and fighting.I emailed him too.
Hope he mellows out.
This cartridge of his and the dirty dozen, the 600OK, the 550 Mag of RNS , maybe mine and others have a chance to make us forum members and this forum
famous. It will be easier to accomplish that if we all get along.Your 585 was a ways before most stuff on here,I
know..Ed.

GrandpasezLar-You may have had some of the fast WC-852.Ed.

MauserCongratulations!!! Your 600 OK invention is truly amazing and the more I learn about your invention the more respect I have for you my friend. I hate to say this but you are really the best amature gun builder in the workd. Please ignore all the BS from Pecos45 aka Todd E aka ScottS. I will try to deflect them for you whenever possible. Thanks!

You are one of the main reasons for troll type activity which you have just proven. On the other hand you might not be stupid but rather it is a case of you loving troll activity.

ScottSMike,
Just tell Garnick how great he is and forget about, for cryin' out loud. Afterall, what does it really matter.
Scott
11 February 2004, 14:05
500grainsDo I hear crying in the background? sniff, sniff, sob, sob,...
11 February 2004, 14:12
ScottSNo
Why would there be crying?
I for one, am glad Garnick got his 600 OK finally, and has shot off a few rounds. Now perhaps we can get back to some form of "normalcy" around here. To be quite honest, I am very happy with my new toy, as well.

MauserWhat is the difference between OK-1 and OK-2 and why did you invent two different versions? Thanks!
Quote:
The .600 Overkill-1 (3.00 inch brass is easy to neck down to .585( my version fixes ALL of the problems with the 585 NYATI), The .600 Overkill-2 with a 3.2 inch case( next order from Horneber goes even further). I have also designed wildcats on this case for .550( using RNS's bullets) , .510 , .458 and even .411. The .510 version will hopefully be completely finished soon and tested in an unlimited class 1000 yrd FCSA competition rifle. It looks remarkably like a huge scaled up belted 6PPC. Very preliiminary results have demonstrated it will be .5MOA or better in a cobled together test mule. It has a significant recoil advantage over the .50BMG and thus rides the bags better and has the speed to buck the wind just as well. It would make a helacious military weopon. The 3.2 inch .600 Overkill case will provide more speed than a .408 Chey Tac and light enough to be fired in a 14lb rifle.

GrandpasezIt is just .2 in longer, same diameter. The shorter 3.0 in
version is for
actions that can't take the length of the 3.2 in version.
He did it to allow uses in different length actions.Ed.

<BMG>Great news!
I look forward to the brass soon to be on it's way. Also, it will be interesting to see the wildcats produced from this new case. It would probably be a good idea to get with Dave at CH Tool & Dave at Manson Reamers and standardize some wildcats. If someone already makes the dies & reamers they'll most likely go that route. This will hopefully eliminate the 'free for all' problems the 585 Nyati faces with everyone having their own dimensions of brass, reamers, dies, etc. You've probably already thought of it but I thought I'd mention it anyway.
Thanks again for all the work (brain, leg, financial) for getting this going. There are VERY FEW that could follow this through to completion, and you've done it. Kudos to you.

MauserRobgunbuilder-
Thanks for the info! I was wondering what else did you invent besides the OK? Please share it with us!
Everyone-
How many of you here have invented and patented something? Just wondering! Thanks!

GrandpasezYou can invent different cartridge configurations, called
designing cartridges, or wildcatting, bur you can't patent them. Your over-enthusiastic praise for Rob's cartridge seems like making fum of it to me.It is a great cartridge and the best one in that range of midbore calibers but, it is not akin to motherhood or apple pie.
Do you seem to come off here, like your alter-whatever Scott, when he posted pics of his collection, thus making fun of big bore shooters due to the
22 and BB-gun????? Ed.

Mauser has been mocking people, do you think? Please don't refer to me as Mauser's alter whatever! I am not Mauser, I do not know who Mauser is, and to be honest, I really don't care to know who Mauser is. I will swear to that on a whole stack of bibles!
Mauser does seem to have one thing in common with you; however, he is too shy to go shooting with me!
Making fun of "big bore shooters".
What are you talking about? More than likely, I have shot big bores longer than many, if not all, the usual posters here! If my little, 'tongue and cheek', reply to the demands of that "gentleman" Pecos45 upset you, I suggest you follow your own advise and STIFFEN YOUR UPPER LIP!
Pecos45 is not a serious poster, he is a troll, and he isn't worth posting pictures to in the first place. Hell, I was doin' him a favor sharing that picture of the BB gun with him!
If you are serious about wanting peace on this forum, then grow-up. Realize that the 600 OK and 12ga FH won't be turning any shooting world on it's ear, since the rifles are:
1.) Too heavy for the average man to hunt with
2.) Kick too hard for the average man to hunt with
3.) Cost too much for the average man to hunt with
4.) Do you really want me to continue, the list goes on and on?
Stop being so self-righteous and realize that the world doesn't give a damn about 99% of what is discussed on this forum. If you don't agree with something or someone just drop it and go on. Or, do you argue with every moron you come across in your life? I could care less if you think I am a moron. Doesn't bother me.
<Rant over>
I still say, good for Garnick. He has is scaled up 458 Win Mag in his little hands and he seems as happy as Pee Wee Herman in an Adult Movie Theater.

GrandpasezI would say that the 600 OK is just for the average guy
with an average pocketbook.IE 600 NE double rifle power, in
a package I can do myself for a grand as opposed to
a 10-30 grand double. And if loaded to 600NE speed will not have to be any heavier than the 10 grand double,IE 11 to 13
lbs.And brass reloading costs are a fraction ofdouble rifle
cartridges.Should I go on???Ed.
