400 gr Frontier bullets for .375H&H
Do any one have experience of, or is currently using Fronteir's 400gr Game ranger bullets in their .375.
I ordered 200 of these and now I feel like a dog that cought the schoolbus. I would apreciate any load data and hunting experiences.

I have been trying to answer your question, but I haven't had much luck. I looked at both Frontier's and Rhino's website.S335 is listed ,but I am sure you would like an easier to get powder. S335 is just a little faster than Reloader 12. If someone has a good load for the Rhino 380 gr., using an American powder, that would really help. If I had some of those 400 grainers,I am sure I could come up with something. I would work up a load for a 375 JRS which has a bit more powder capacity than the HH, though the HH can be shot in the JRS. 5 to 8 grains less would probably work well for the HH. Good luck.

Since you are both located in South Africa, why don't you contact them directly.

They probably have some data for their own bullets.

George, I'm in Alaska not Africa Cool I didn't know Bullet- .375 lives in Africa. Frontier has loading data on their website if he wants to use S335.

FWIW, here's some QuickLoad data, using Alf's dimensions for bullet and cartridge overall length. As you can see, the velocity predicted for IMR4350 is higher than what Alf got, but not completely out of whack. According to QL the pressures with these loads will not exceed 54575 PSI, when the cartridge is rated for 62366 PSI. You should still work up to these loads in a prudent manner. I have found that I can never get the velocity promised for N560 with other cartridges - QL thinks it's magic stuff.

Nice to know this bullet is available. I plan to try for 2500 fps with it in my 375 RUM and magpro. Sectional density times velocity will exceed 1000...a feat only matched in the bog bore fraternity by the 50 BMG.

Thanks guys!

Can't wait to get in the bush with it for some field testing! It seems that very few has hunted with it before.

The sectional density looks great on it. Would love to get a Wildebeest on a frontal chest shot and see what penetration I'll get!

I'm going 26 - 31 July.
