Airedale66For those that might be interested, the trigger on the M70 and the trigger on the new Browning X-Bolt are essentially the same--though none of the parts are interchangeable. But both are three-lever systems that operate under the same principal.
I've heard a lot of griping from fans of the previous M70 trigger who like the old design (which was good) but this new trigger is very user friendly and easy to fully adjust (which the old version wasn't).
Anyway, I certainly liked the trigger when I shot it last week on both the M70 and on the X-Bolt. Very crisp. Very precise. I thought it was excellent.

boltmanIt looks like it gives up the main advantage of the old M70 trigger, the open design which kept dirt from interfering with the workings. For a hunting rifle I'll still take the old design that's been worked over by a gunsmith.
