Double Rifle Builder Symposium

I don't know if anyone new about the Double Rifle Builderd Symposium or not, It will be held Aug.4th to Aug.6th 2006.The price will be $50.00 a person.I have a postcard he send me,but willnot be able to attend.What iam trying to get all you gus that having a problems maybe ask him to do a video or dvd of the workshop,What we reaaly need is more of this kind of workshop.Oh the gentleman name is W. Ellis Brown maybe someone will contact him about taping the workshop and sell them.

And the point of this is?

1. for this guy to take everyones $50 and give little in return.

2. This guy is a no-shit gunmaker and he wants to help American double rifle makers.

3. The point of this is to sell double rifles, so you pay this guy $50 and then another $50K later? Kind of a down payment plan?

I am hoping it is 2, but I bet it is 3, it is most certainly 1 as well.

He is the author of a book on building double rifles on shotgun actions. I have it and it is quite informative. He goes into great detail and it is well illustrated. This isn't the turn your Stevens 311 into a 470 NE book. He mainly deals with Greener crossbolted european doubles sized to the caliber.

The guys book is beyond great! It is a workingmans' guide to building a budget priced SS DGR or other game rifle.
He is from Colorado, so I would expect it is there. With a bit more lead time, I would be ElectraGliding over just to look at his shop and play Q&A for 30 minutes.

I have known Ellis Brown for over 25 years. I find him to be a very honest person. I agree with 22WRF in questioning the motive of your post. If you would take the time to inquire about the symposium before you posted your response you might have been able to answer your own questions.
It is a simple matter to go to his website and he lays out in detail the entire weekend events. There is nothing that is not above board about this event. As far as I know, he does not sell double rifles. His intent, again explained on the website, is to HELP someone BUILD their own double using a shotgun action.
