Which is Stronger / More Wear Resistant?
Which is stronger and more wear resistant; therefore, better, the Jones underlever or the Purdey double underbite?

Here is a pic of the Jones underlever bite:

I am not an expert in this area, however I have been told that the Jones underlever will stay tight longer than any other double rifle action. As to actual failure strength I do not know.
I do know one thing, top lever double rifles are plenty strong enough. I have shot my British guns [from the 1920's] sevral hundred times and they show no signs of wear.
Given a choice, even in a BPE I would always opt for the top lever.

N E 450 No2,

Thanks for the comments. I tend to agree that the ergonomics of the top lever are better than those of the Jones underlever.

None of the other double rifle shooters have an opinion?
