daleatkinsquestions about the Big Bore shoot and range
I didn't want to clutter up the other thread but I thought that shoot was just awesome. I watched Frederik's video about a dozen times and the pictures as well. I was amazed at how well the range was set up and organized. It's easy to see all the time and effort spent to make it possible as well as safe. I would like to set up a similar range but on a much smaller scale. I would love to know more about how it was laid out and how the different targets were activated. I appreciate any imput.

Safari-Huntdaleatkins,
I mostly did the filming and photos. The range was great yes but it has taken the guys a couple of years to get to that level. But fortunately they are busy working on a US chapter and I'm sure by joining the Big Bore association you will get a lot of help from them if needed.
A lot of the people who are members are outfitters and ph's as well and do come over for the big shows every year. So to arrange a big bore shoot like it in the States is not impossible.
You can contact the association at
http://www.bigbore.orgPeterV and Katte who are both members of AR as well can be a lot of help. Katte was the prevoius president and PeterV the new president of the association. PeterV I know is currently in Mozambique fishing but on the website you will get a couple more email addresses just keep in mind that everything really slows down over Christmas time here in SA.
Hope you come right
