Shipping Ammo overseas?
How does one go about shipping ammo across the pond? I have a gentleman who is interested in a portion of my collection and was wondering what one needs to go through. I posted on this board because you guys never let me down.
Thanks
Andy

Andy,

The US State Department - Office of Defense Trade Controls requires an export permit when shipping ammunition overseas.

I can find no exception for small amounts of ammunition (which I assume is your case).

There is a form you can file with the government for a one time export exception, which may apply in your case. http://www.pmdtc.org/docs/oas.pdf

It's really the same export form, you just don't have to register as an exporter.

Is this live ammunition? Or has it been rendered nonfunctional?

Regards,

Terry
