Got it done Qd system for my 375 H&H K98 action.
First of all my baby is back with me second of all she had some bloody good surgery done on herself. Now she looks even hotter.
But have a look yourslef and tell me what you think ?

So first of all I had to find bases for the mounts as Mauser K98 actions as a loading ramp for stripper clips this was very hard to come by and luckily the gunsmith had a set spare and only Weaver makes them. You will notice the small ramp at the front of the back base. This was my biggest concern and worry since the weaver agent here only orders once a bloody year. thumbdown

Then with the low scope mountings the scope needed to be cleared from the bolthandle and since the original bolthandle was bent and worked on too much already we got a new longer one on it and it looks good and will work much better for Dangerous game situations.

The Bolt clears the scope with great ease.

The bases looks good on the action and doesnt look out of place.

So now I'm a very happy camper thumb

I always try to use enough gun but then sometimes a brainshot works just as good.

Well, being that you asked ....

I would have had a different front base that cleared the action so as not to offer up any more resistance than a scope a;ready creates to feeding the magazine with more cartridges. Since it looks like you have plenty of scope length, so this should be easy to do.

Otherwise, looks good.

Just my guess:

Was it important that the scope be mounted as far to the rear as possible because of your head placement on the stock. I suspect that the objective lens bell wouldn't let you go any further back and the extention rearward was necessary?

BTW, I thought your .303 Enfield was about as well done a practical and inexpensive "sporterization" I've seen. I shoots well, too!

Good luck with your reborn DG rifle!

BTW, if I'm wrong and you had to use what was available (and an extended front mount was "all or nothing", I'll find you a regular front base and get someone to bring it to RSA for you???

No hassles loading the rifle with ammo or getting them out.

Then as for the scope being set back as far as possible well that is one bad thing about the Docter scopes is that they dont have long eye relief.

Judge, thanks for the offer but I'm happy with it and I must give praise to a certain Mr Blauwkamp which everyone knows on AR who recrowned my .303 to shoot much better. clap

That is the basic problem with euro trash to begin with. The long eyepieces just wind up whacking people in the head.

I never saw the weaver rear mount before. Redfield had/has an "over the hump " mount in 1 and 2 piece.

I'm glad you got it all together, and the mounts look nice and solid. The bolt handle looks very nicely done!

Good luck with it this year!
