.458WM sight in for factory ammo

Hey guys,

Am off for a deer hunt and am gonna use my .458 with factory ammo - coz I need the brass for reloading!
What distance would you guys sight in the Winchester superX 510gr (@ around 1950fps) out of a .458?
100mtrs?
Go for the longest PBR?
What are you guys sighting in your .458's at?

BTW the area is scrub and my rifle is fitted with a 2.5x scope.

If it is scrub your range will be limited anyway, so I would go with 100yds. Should be good to about 125yds.

If you sight in to be 3" high at 100 yards, you'll be about 3" low at 200 yards, with the average 500gr load.

Cold Trigger Finger

Because 90%+ of my shots were at 100 or less I always sighted in dead on at 100. . It is kinda odd that for many years the only deer I head shot I did so with the 458. .
Try not to hit any major bone structures with it. It just removes too much of the deer.
Btw. That load is one of my favorite deer loads. I've killed close to 20 deer with it. . Most meat friendly load I've found. . Dumps brown bear in their tracks too.
