600 OverkillWhy sell your elephant gun to go on an elephant hunt :-)----just messin with you doc. That is truly a class rig. You might think about it though----years from now when the money doesn't mean anything, the grand kids might sure like to have dad's ellei gun & the one he used with grandpa in Africa. I sure wish I had some of my old timers guns from way back
600,
You are absolutely right but I have only one father who has recently gone through a life-changing event and that makes it all the more important to do what I can, when I can, while he still can. And that is to go back to Africa one more time with him.
Several people on this board know that I have been struggling with this decision simply because I have used this 600OK on my last safari to take my first Cape buffalo - with my father. So it has great sentimental value to me.
I agree with you - were there another way ...

Doc, happy to hear that your Dad is recovering well! May I suggest that you insist on the buyer (as part of the purchase agreement) that they give you first right of refusal if/when they choose to sell the gun. Might give you another bite at the apple down the road.

Thanks Don and that is a great idea - I will certainly ask for first right of refusal should they sell it.
I was planning on putting it on Gunsinternational this weekend. Any advice about the ad aside from what I put in the AR Classified ad?
Wayne is giving it the AHR once-over and tune up and I will include that information as well.
Michael, I will not include the CEB offer as that is limited to AccurateReloading members.
Thanks all.

Doc---Your father's a lucky man to have you as a son----but I'm sure you feel the same having him as a father---class guys. The chance of maybe getting to buy it back is a great idea.

CCMDoc600 -
I tuly am a lucky man to have a man like my dad as my dad. He is back to work on the docks as of Memorial Day - 7 days a week. 71 and recovering from a fall in January that broke his right shoulder followed by surgery that removed half of his right lung and the cancer within.
Namibia in November for leopard, elephant and gemsbok whether I get this sold or not.
On GunsInternational and AHR's website as of today.
Thanks all,
Paul

CCMDoc,
I wish I could buy the 600OK, but not in the cards now - so to speak.
I hope you have a great time with your father, sounds like you are blessed to have each other. I know you will cherish the time with each other.

CCMDocHe is getting stronger every day and yesterday he asked me:
"So are we all set for Africa? I may not want to come home this time..."
It's gonna be great ... I wish I could drag my little brother along with us.

CCMDocSam and Don,
It would be a pleasure and honor to have you drag my brother's ass and have all three of you join us on safari in November.
Good laughs and cherished memories would be the dessert after a hard day's hunting.
