After waiting for my brother to get here we finally took his .375 H&H out and shot it. I must say I was SURPRISED (pleasantly). I was a bit apprehensive about it and hearing the stories of recoil. It recoils about like my .300 H&H. He thinks it doesn't recoil as bad as his Savage in 7mm Mag. It was fun to shoot. What we had loaded was a 235 gr X bullet over 83 grs of IMR 4350. I had been reading these forums peopl have said a lot about the recoil. I think if I can handle this .375 that I going to have to move up to one of the.458/.460's.

Try the 300 gr. bullets before you decide, considerably more recoil...but I do not find the recoil of a 375 punishing at all, nor the 416 Rem if fact I can't tell any difference...recoil is a personal thing.
