where do our members come from?
Gents,
I am very pleased to have come to think of this forum as a knowledge source from around the world.
I look forward to reading a tidbit everyday and learning from a person that has already made the mistakes I may be heading toward and leading me to the right path. As a reloader for nearly 20 years I am now in the position to realize I know nearly nothing and also realize I do know a few in things and contribute when I can.
In that over a years time on this forum there are a few names I have come to trust and admire...Paul H from Alaska is one of these gentlemen and his credentials as a "moderator" I hold in the highest regard. Roger Rothschilds is another.Atkinson...nuff said in one word with him. there are many others and I expect many other members here would like to have sign in on a "Roll Call" of sorts.
Personally I served 4 years in the USAF as a mech on B-52's and KC-135's...Took up recreational shooting with a POS 22 single action revolver made in Brazil. That did not serve me AT ALL and soon moved to a Ruger Blackhawk in 357 and that was the beginning of 20 years of fun and diverting resources from bikes and beers to handguns, rifles and shotguns of every sort.
I load now over forty different cartridges, from a 218 Bee to the massive .500 A-Square and have a ball doing things from casting my own bullets to reforming wildcats like the 7mm International Rimmed for my T/C. My interests have been financially rewarding as well as draining because of strange habits like buying a set of dies for rifles I MAY get in the future. I know this is my chosen path and eagerly accept the challenges.
May your dies always find brass......45nut

Mitch used to post here often when I first started visiting the site. You are right though, he hasn't been posting much lately. I hope he is well.

Mitch is a big bore addict and is probably the best shot with a big bore from the benchrest in the country.

I believe he is either completley off line or is in bad health,as I used to communicate with him on a nearly daily basis, and that has ended in the last year and a half or so.

My prayers are with him no matter where he is.

Brian.

Why would you want anybody else to be a moderator for this forum? A moderator does not need to be a big bore expert to do the job effectively. Besides, why is so important to have a moderator anyway? We do not see Mitch's post does not mean he is not watching the forum in the background. I think everything is fine the way it is now in this Big Bore forum. Thanks.

He has had health problems but last word I had from him a couple of months ago he was still terrorising the roads in his corvette [Big Grin]

45, the bulk of Mitch's posting was done on the old forum,1998-2000 where he helped a lot of guys with advice on their bigbore projects.- And also put us to shame with elephant rifle target groups most of us would like to get with target rifles [Embarrassed]
