Grip other than checkering
I posted this on the gunsmith forum. I thought some of you may have experience with this. What type of grip other than checkering or tread tape is preferred in the grip area. I have been told of stippling, any pics out there. Some prefer not to have coarse checkering as it makes their hands raw during firing. Its common for women clays shooters to complian of such. Thanks

Stippling i understand is easy to grip. but hard to
do.For looks still can't beat good checkering.Ed.

I know that you asked for other than checkering, but have you ever handled a good flat-top checkering job (like the vintage British firearms)? It looks great, and is much less abrasive while still allowing good gripping (particularly at greater than 22 lines per inch). I much prefer it to regular checkering, especially on harder recoiling firearms.

For silhoette shooting I've used a epoxy/fine sand pattern on the grip that really works well.Looks crapy but gives you a tenatious grip.-Rob
