RobGunBuilder the temptation was too great!
I just had to make a 600 OverKill stainless steel high pressure case based on Mings dimensions [Big Grin]
I wonder how much pressure increase this would afford over the brass case? The case was too shiny to scan well.

Bearclaw,
I seriously think that case should go to at least 80,000psi before we see pressure signs, depends on whether you measure at the "expansion belt" or if you are going from "primer pocket expansion". I would definitely not put it in a Mauser action though...you know how weak they are.

I knew it Doug, your getting weaker, pretty soon you will find out that you can't live without a 600! I know in the next few days that little voice will convince you to get in on this. How fast do you think a slug like this will drop a bison? It just so happens I think I know where we could get our hands on one or two. [Big Grin]

Doug,

It looks great but stainless is not gonna work. Can you make some using solid brass? I think that all you have to do is anneal it to a proper temper after turning it on the lathe. Have fun. Cheers! Ming

Ming brass is certainly easier to machine than stainless but what wrong with a stainless case?
