N E 450 No2No Rifle that is not a Double Rifle can be considered as an all round rifle. Pondoro Taylor.
I agree. If I could only have one hunting rifle it would be my 450/400 3 1/4" Double rifle.
I would have 2 scopes fitted in claw mounts. I would use 300 grain Hawk .025jkt for all deer sized game, the 400gr Hawk .045jkt for all medium sized game, the 400 gr Woodleigh Softs for all BIG big game, with the 400 gr Woodleigh Solids for shot #2 on buff, and as the Primary on hippo and elephant.
It might be a little heavy on a Sheep hunt, but I know it will get the job done.
Or I could just use my 450 No2 and hunt nothing but pigs, bears, buffalo, and elephants.
