Nope, not exactly. You can sign up for the "Charter Program" for a pretty good price. However, the Montana Rifle Company (MRC) action designated "Professioanl Hunter" is not in production yet, and it will probably be a fair while before they start shipping that product. I'll leave it to others (MRC?) to guesstimate when you might see a "Professional Hunter", but for other new actions it has been 12-24 months between start of production preparation (molds etc etc) and actual shipping. And the PH is not at start of production yet - as far as I know.



What you can get pretty much right now, is an MRC "Long" action in LH with a magnum bolt face. That will accommodate cartridges like a .375 H&H, .416 Rem, .458 Win, .458 Lott and others of that length - e.g. mid-size Weatherbys. That action will also handle the Remington Ultramag cartridges, albeit with a different magazine box. So make sure you specify the caliber you are interested in when you order the action.



There are few "drop-in" stocks available for the MRC M1999 actions. Stock manufacturers mostly rely on M70 stocks - which will work with some additional inletting etc. At least the tang and the bottom metal differs from the M70 to the M1999. Not by much, but enough to warrant additional inletting.



As to how "finished" a barreled M1999 action would be. That is really up to you. The actions are useable as they come, but can also be improved by a bit of polishing/stoning/surface grinding. I don't know what reamers MRC has, but unless you choose something too exotic, they can probably accommodate you. The barrels have a pretty good reputation - and the whole package is very reasonable. In any event, you'll need to calculate with some metal finish - e.g. blue for C/M or bead-blast for SS.



So depending on how handy you are at inletting and bedding synthetic stocks, I guess you could finish the project yourself. Another option, would be to get a "Ghost Kit" from Serengeti - same action and caliber choices (?) as from MRC. You get an inletted, laminated wood stock, but you need to finish and bed it yourself. If you decide to go this way, talk to Serengeti about installing one or two crossbolts. If you are planning a big bore, that will be a worthwhile upgrade.
