Dago RedRe: 505 Gibbs Magnum (bottom metal)
What type of action? I seem to remember Jim Wisner is doing them, but don't quote me.

V.V. JeffI need to know if anyone out there makes a magazine box/floorplate setup for the 505 Gibbs. I've tried Sunny Hill and Blackburn. Neither company does one. I know somebody is doing it for A square.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PfeiferI was thinking of picking up a .505 Gibbs setup from Jim for a P14 action that I have, after my friend Paul got his .505 Gibbs back from JimW...but Jim talked me out of it. One must use a P14 bolt and it leaves very little on the face of the bolt. Jim was the one who did the research and tooling setup for the Kimber 84 BGR(?) in .505 Gibbs IIRC.

OldsargeWith CZ about to bring out a factory .505 sometime next year, having one made out of a P17 is a recipe for bad teeth . . . from grinding them together while the gunsmith tries to make your "custom" work while your cheapass friends are out shooting their CZ's! It will take you far longer to get the action reworked (and working) then it will to just wait until they come up on the market. And let's not even talk about the cost differential.
