<BMG>.585"/BMG by SSK (with Pic)...
Just something I ran across. Link is loaded with the usual SSK 'info' (no suprise), but it's interesting none the less.

RobgunbuilderMan! a Fisher action! Haven't seen one of those for awhile. Wonder why they didn't use a Mcmillan repeater? I hear they are going for $2700 now for the action alone. That powder charge they quoted doesn't seem correct either. I guess that's a T-Rex on steroids!-Rob
There is already better one 14.5, 60 years or so, it is 14.5x114 Russian :-)

MingbogoSSK is a little behind the line for this big bore cartridge. Dennis Olson has been building the 700 Rimless Nitro Express using the 50 BMG case necked up. He can build one with his custom walnut stock and the McMillan 50 BMG action for around $5000. You will end up with something that looks like an African hunting rifle and not like those silly target 50 BMG rifles. Why mess with that old ball stuff from SSK while there is a better one out there? Have fun.

RobgunbuilderAll these guys have missed the boat! On a .50BMG case the real winner is the 12 guage. I still have not deceided if the case needs a belt swaged on ala Hubel458 or whether there is enough shoulder to headspace on.-Rob

OverkillRobgunbuilder!
What bullet weight and velocity will a 12 guage BMG have? and what bullet/slug?

RobgunbuilderOverkill- 2000 grs at 2000 fps and you can shoot a 12 guage shotgun shell in it by simply switching bolts! Hows that for versatility! It's just an idea right now!-Rob
