Paul HSuggestion for smith to finish my 500J project rifle
Somehow the older you get, the less free time you have. I'd planned to fab up a magazine and work out the feeding on my 500J but just haven't found the time to tackle the project and its been languishing for years so figure it's time to just send it off and get it done.
It's based on an enfield with 25" barrel and barrel band front sight and sling swivel off of a Ruger #1 458 tube. Shoots fine but not so fun as a single shot.
What I need completed is mag and feed rail work, mill action to eject loaded round, d/t for scope bases, fit rear sight base and cerakote the whole shebang. I'm looking for a rough duty working gun, nothing fancy. Figure I'll drop it into a composite stock.
Any suggestions on who to use?
Better send it to Duane Wiebe.
I would not wish a 500 Jeffery on Rusty McGee Gunsmith.
He has enough to do without one of those.

SevensNot sure about a smith for a 500 Jeff, but I am curious about your stock. It may be the photo angle, but it looks like it has a lot of cast-on.

Yes, I hope that is an optical illusion created by the lighting and maybe some spherical aberration by the camera lens, putting a bend on the stock at the periphery of the picture.
More OT:
Is that the Rabbit Creek public range south of Anchorage or the Izaak Walton League range north of Eagle River?
Cook Inlet mudflats in background?

Paul HIgnore the stock, it's a junker.
Yes, Rabbit Creek.
