MTMMod. 70 Stainless .375 Weight
Anybody weighed one of these? 7 1/4 lbs. seems a bit light.

RMillerI have weighed one of these at a gun store. Came in at just over 8 pounds.

Thebear_78Mine when outfitted with scope and loaded weighed nearly 11 lbs. I have sent it in to a custom smith to get lightened up, hoping for loaded weight of 7.5-8

The new stainless elite will still have the heavy barrel and open sites.

surestrikeWhen I get on the USRAC sight I can't find any mention of the "Stainless Elite"
Or any stainless .375's at all any more. What has been changed on this new rifle?

RedlanderI've got one, and the unloaded/unadorned weight is closer to 8 1/4 lbs. I do not know why Winchester maintains that wrong information.

If you are going to carry a big stick, you've got to whack someone with it at least every once in while.

GeorgeSThe one stainless Classic .375H&H I handled seemed awfully light, even lighter than my 7.75lb. Sako FinnBear in the same chambering.

RMiller,
Thanks it was that dreaded next page button that I missed.

I thought that might have been the case.

RiodotI looked at both the stainless classic and the safari today.
I held them side by side and I swear the stainless was close to 2 lbs lighter than the wood stocked model.
The stainless classic felt like it had a hollow buttstock.
It was not real well balanced compared to the safari classic.

WillOut of the box, my SS version weighed 8.35 lbs.
The wood stocked version weighed 9.2 (I forget excatly).
I had the SS version rebarreled by Douglas: 7.24 lbs.

4570ForeverJust got a Winchester Classic Stainless (old style) in 375 H&H. Weights are: (NO sling)
Buck Naked and Empty: 8.35 lbs - 8 lbs 5.6 oz..
w/Leupold QR mounts, rings, and Simmons Whitetail Expedition 1.5-6x32: 9.56/9.62 lbs - 9 lbs 9oz/9 lbs 10 oz..
w/4 rds Factory (Rem) 270gr. 9.93 lbs - 9 lbs 15 oz..
Bare rifle was originally weighed on an Ohaus Champ II digital scale used for parcel shipping. All other weights were on an old fashion growcery store type meat scale - which also showed a bare rifle weight corresponding to 8.35 lb.
They are off in the original specs of 7 lbs 4 oz. Once I shoot it I don't think I'll complain too much about the extra pound.
