choppacalling PC!
Gday Mate,
Congrats on picking up the Lott.
I changed the choice of my Ruger #1 from 458 Lott and went for 375H&H, only because I didnt want to wait for 6 mths for the Lott to get here, the 375 will be here in about a month, my question is, where do you get your brass from for your 375 and how much do you pay?
![[Confused]](images/icons/confused.gif)
same question goes for any other Aussies reading this.
Cheers Choppa

ConChoppa,
Frank O'Reilly in Melbourne: $60 per 100, about 8 months ago though, bought 300 cases to be safe.
Con
Choppa,
you could have bought a cz .458 and sent it off to Bob De'Vries to get reamed to a Lott or you could have bought a cz .416 Rigby if you wanted something in between a .458 Lott & a .375.
Anyway you have made a great choice with the .375, it hits real hard and has low recoil.
My load is;
win case
wlr primer
78 gr AR2209
Hornady 300 gr RN
(As usual this is safe in my rifle, so reduce 10% & work up to be safe)
shoots under an inch and is probably doing 2450 so its a mild load. The Hornady RN works well on pigs & grassy's
Con got a great price on that brass I paid $92 for 100 winchester cases.
Don't you hate the wait mate !!
Choppa by the way when I run out of Hornady RN's I am going to try some cheap Taipan .375 bullets $40 odd bucks for 100 I think for the 300 gr RN's. I have used a few in .416 cal and there good for pigs etc.

choppaThanks Boys,
Con $60 /100 is bloody cheap, I go to franks every time I go to Melbourne, so that sounds like the go, Franks is hard to beat on just about everything price wise.
PC,
I didnt want to have to wait for 6 mths so I went with the .375 and It will here in about a month, and I had my heart set on a Ruger No1.
So PC whats the next Toy?

ConChoppa,
Agreed on Frank O'Reilly's prices. They're buying brass in bulk (10,000 case lots from Winchester) hence the dirt cheap prices.
Con
Choppa resigned from my Job today so no toys until I pick up another Job. Life is to short to be treated like shit.
I am not sure whats next;
I am thinking either
.500 caliber big bore of some sort
.404 Jeffery
or an M70 Bigbore
or a second cz .416 Rigby to leave in the humback stock setup as I changed my current .416 stock to a Corporal Trading composite.
Whats next on the list for you ??
Con is doing a .470 capstick

choppaPC,
I reckon the next purchase will probably be a good .22, I have owned well over 2 dozen .22's over the years, but they seem to come and go.
I reckon I might go for a Sako .22, the Wife is getting her licence shortly, she wants a 30/06 for Sambar, so that might come first.
As far as big bores go, look to put it plainly I would love a double rifle, i think it would be a price issue rather than calibre, if you know what I mean. Thats too bad about your job, what do you do for a crust?
I work as an accountant,
I hope to get some work somewhere as soon as I have finished up next Tuesday on the Wednesday I will go and meet with an accountant at another firm who has some contacts.
I have only been in the game seven months so I do not have that much experience.
I have heaps of motivation though as I my missus said when I get another job I can get another Gun

KarlPC speaking of dollars mate have you noticed the prices of CZ's going through the roof here.(like $1500!)
A 25-30% jump in price, yet our dollar has grown 35% stronger in that time.
They are still selling for roughly the 'original' price in the US...
Karl.
Karl.
Karl,
Yeah I know thye must have been selling really well and they thought "gee people will still buy these even after a 25-30% increase" As usual it's just not in favour of the consumer at all.
I still reckon there a bargain at $1450-$1550 but the people willing to buy one will drop off as the price goes up.
See there would be a lot of Rock & Can shooters who would buy a .375 or .458 for the heck of it at $1200 odd dollars but once you start getting into the $1500 area people who are not keen on big bores would be saying "well I really don't have a use for it"
Well just buy them up before they creep towards the $2000 mark.
I was speaking with my gundealer about the price rise and he said you need to keep in mind that the 602 .375 back in 1980's was selling for $1200 odd dollars so he said there actually has not been a price rise on the BRNO magnums for many years

KarlPC,
Not sure about the 80's but I remember pricing 602's 10 years or so ago in 458 for around $975.
Karl.
