Mike378500 Grains..are you there...GMA actions
500,
Do you know if a Granite comes fully ready go in a selected calibres, excepting bluing. In other words a barrel is fitted and bluing is done is that all.

500grainsMike,
GMA will make you a barreled action.
The machining is good. But the action really needs a good gunsmith to go through it, smooth things up, etc.

Mike378500,
Are they ready to go in the selected calibre for feeding or would they be considered a "gunsmiths" action?

500grainsFeeding will be pretty good, but for a DGR I would still have it touched up. It is definitely not a package that a guy would just bolt a stock to. IMO. Remember, GMA is an action maker, not a house of ACGG gunsmiths.

Mike378A friend of mine in Australia is interested in a barreled action from them in 375 but we were under the impression they were fully ready to go minus the stock and polishing and bluing.

500grainsIt depends on your standards. Personally I would have a gunsmith go through it. But I would do the same with a new M70 too.

fritz454Great action but deffinately needs to be gone over to get it smoothed out. I usually spend about 6-8 hours gettingit right but all things considered that's not a lot of time.
