ElCaballeroWin 70 Super Express?

vapodogI'd say that was an original.
I see nothing out of line there.

Idaho Sharpshooterfor some reason Big W liked the matte finish on receivers on M70's. Every original I remember seeing had that feature.

7XpressIn agreement with those before me. This looks identical to the one that I had in 375 - of course without the brake.

ElCaballeroWell, maybe it is right but it still looks silly.

DavidReedYup, thats how the USRAC sent the Super Express M70's out. When they changed it to the Safari express I beleive they phased the two tone blueing out. I've seen some of the earlier .300 Wby's and 7mm STW's with the same treatment. I suppose they did them like that to appeal to the pre-64 marketing campaign they had when they brought the crf rifle back. I like it. Those early long action M70's were pretty nice rifles and of much better quality than the later guns.

ireload2I have seen Super Express in .375 in both push feed and CRF. Both had the matte receiver finish.
Think about it. It has some practical application for an iron sight rifle.

But you seldom see someone here admit the impetus for their purchase was your post!

So does that mean that the 375H&H I bought a couple years ago that was LNIB with a SN of G116xxx was a good deal at a smoking price of $650 including dies, new brass, 2.5x weaver scope and 150 bullets shipped?

Luckily she's not LNIB anymore and made it on Safari last year and will likely be going again next year.
