I tried N-550 with 500 gr hornadies, I couldn't fit enough in the case to break 2200 fps. Recoil was noteable.

Paul,I think one is supposed to use N135,or 140.I have not seen any loads with n550 printed anywhere.

Using N160, must use drop tube. I've been thinking of N560 to reduce volume. I'm satisfied with 2200. It'll put a solid through a buff the long way.

Agreed, N550 is too slow. But I've found in applications where RL15 works well, you can get a velocity boost with N550 by increasing the charge about 10%. The problem is the Lott is already too small of a case for RL15.

I had the N550 on the shelf, and really don't use it for anything, so it was worth a try.

Accuracy seems to be better with the Walterhog bullets.
