AntlersFloor Plates
I'm having a 416 Rem built on a Dakota action. Should I use a Mod 70 type floor plate or a Mod 700 type? I'm not sure which would be more dependable with this level of recoil. Any other options you would prefer?

500grainsI am confused.
The Dakota actions sold in Brownell's catalog come with a magazine box, floorplate, spring and follower. How did you end out without all of the kit that goes with the action?

AtkinsonYes, I would use the Dakota bottom metal....certainly neither the M-70 or the Rem 700 metal is for big bores...you need a drop box at any rate for all big bores IMO....

MingbogoI think he is referring to the Hunter model without a drop box, not Model 76. Model 76 is much more expensive and it comes as a complete action assembly.

AntlersThanks for the input guys. You are correct the action is a model 97 action, not the 76. I have gone with a Dakota floor plate. Thanks again.
