SamBLatest big bore project done (375 Hawk)
With thanks to a couple other forum members for selling off their unwanted components (stock and scope), I've finished my latest big bore project. While the .375 Hawk is at the small end of big bores, with this 26" barrel I should be able to duplicate original .375 H&H ballistics.
It consists of a surplus Mauser action, Shilen barrel, Boyd's stock, Timney trigger, Leupold scope. Haven't shot it yet, but hope to get out this weekend...

SnapperThe original article was printed in the Nov-Dec 1993 issue of Handloader and maybe on the Z-hat web sight. Top loads with the 270 grain bullet approach 2584 and 2400 with the 300 grain bullet. Scovill states that all loads listed were safe in his gun. I've used the 250 grain Gamekings @2700 and have yet to recover a bullet. You will really like this caliber!
