giSTOCK CHOICE
I have decided on Accuracy Innovations for the stock on the 416 Remy on Montana action, can't decide between classic with no cheek piece or the lower comb for DGR.
will mount 1.5 x 5 lopy as low as I can go & have 2.1 lopy for backup
thanks

aktoklatI have the same dilemma. Stocking a 400 H&H I decided to go with the classic style w/o the comb. I believe it will allow me to use the low mounted scope or open sights more efficiently.

AtkinsonI grew up shooting the old Weavers on the old pre 64 winchesters, a blessing in disguise as I discovered that it's mostly hype about the 3 point hold.
All my guns today have low combs for iron sights and I shoot them very well indeed with a scope..I discovered that if the crosshairs are on the target it makes no difference, and it has not hurt my shooting in any way and is way more convienent in that I can use both irons and a scope without compromise. It will not work in reverse as you cannot get down on your irons with a stock designed for scope use unless you use a very ugly high set of irons, or some other gimmick..
I suppose that your phyical build might make a difference, but I believe the human body can adjust to about any gun if you shoot it a bit.
I also believe that many just accept what is read or told to them on this subject and as a result of this don't believe they can shoot a low comb rifle with a scope, and if they don't believe that, then they probably can't, its a mental thing and that can make a difference.

giTHANKS FOR YOUR INPUT, I AM GOING TO ORDER THE ONE FOR DGR, AND THEN MOUNT THE SCOPE LOW, DON'T KNOW IF I AM GOING TO PUT IRON SIGHTS ON THE 416 OR NOT.
