jeffeossoAxel,
what a fine jest you have pulled on us, assuming this picture is your lathe. What's the centers? 12"? 10?
Great, we've been ToDDeD again
This "lathe" is a toy.
A jacobs drill bit in the tail, and no gear changes for cutting threads? No power feeds?
where's the 4 or 6 axis CNC/DRO?
It's fine for learning on, if it was SECURED to a mount. What's it sitting on? a tarp? and sitting on the edge of the bench, with it nearly over balanced on at the head?
The board it's sitting on, for a point of reference, is a sheet of plywood, with a red toolback for reference. Is the plywood 30" wide?
i'll admit, it looks well oiled.
wonder how he cuts even an 18" taper on this, as the throughhole MIGHT be .75".
well, at least it aint got one of those dang 4 jaw chucks on it, for his precesion working.
How about a pic of your degree, Todd?

<Axel>Gentlemen, the lathe is a UniMat. It has a 76mm swing and 250mm center to center distance the spindle through hole is only around 10mm. It does have power feed, but the belt, O-ring, is broken so at this time it is manual feed only. This is an Austrian machine and can be converted to a vertical mill as well.
The lathe is mounted on a piece of 19 mm thick plywood. This lathe is approximately 35 years old and still works. It will make a 0.010" cut on 1" bar stock quite nicely.
This is the lathe I learned to run as a boy of 8. Immediately adjacent to the left of this lathe is a larger model. It is a Clausing 13" swing, 36 inches between centers with tracer capability lathe. You cannot see it ON PURPOSE! Additionally, there is a Atlas 6" swing 18" between centers lathe at the other end of the shop. I will not lower myself to posting pictures for a group of childish bullies.
Now go ahead and have a feel good about yourselves day berating and belittling me!
Axel
PS - I forgot my manners. Thank you very much Nickudu, for posting this picture.

urdubobDear Mr axel
respectfully, That is not a Lathe a gunsmith would use, It is in fact a hobbie or toy lathe.
