My 375 H&H loved IMR4350 with the 260 grain NP and I wanted to develop loads for the 300 grain Barnes TSX and Banded solids using H4350 because I use that powder for my 6.5x284.
I had some interesting results, velocity was always faster (but just barely) with H4350 but accuracy went to hell. Here are my results:

It looks like I will have to keep two different 4350 powders in the cabinet from now on.

Very interesting. I've used IMR 4320 under a 300 grain Nosler/Hornady, 67.5-68 grains for about 2520 with very good accuracy - better than I can hold. No pressure signs in a Mod 70, but this should be considered close to max, if not maxed out. I've never gone stronger with this powder.

PRetty anemic loads velocity-wise. I get right at 2525 using 76gr H-414 out of a 24" Model 70 and groups under half MOA. Also H-4350 gets you even better velocity. jorge

I loaded these for pigs here in California so I wasn't concerned at getting max velocity out of them. It just shoots really well in my gun.

I have the 300 grain TSX coming out at 2500+ in this same rifle with IMR4350.

What kind of rifle do you have that is shooting groups like that. I have a CZ and tried H4350 & 300 gr Swift and was disappointed in the way it shot. I think I will try the IMR 4350

With the 270s I've had good luck with 4064 and acc 2460

I've loaded for a couple .375 H&H rifles and can't get either one of them to like 4350 very well.

One really likes 4064 and both like RL-15.

I've got a couple of Lbs of 4064 in the cabinet so I'll give it a try.

I'm sure there is one somewhere, but I haven't found one that won't shoot with 4064 or RL15. I also have never seen a .375 that wasn't close to MOA, this includes Sakos, a pair of Whitworths, M70's and Rugers.

Have you tried any of the 270g TSX bullets? I'm looking for any info on them as well....it looks like your IMR4350 work shows 300g TSX bullets in the same load/velocity ballpark as mine with 300g Sierras. Did you notice any reduction in pressure/pressure signs or velocity improvement going to the banded bullet? Data for that is kind of spotty from barnes, so I'd appreciate your opinion...

My L/H M70 Classic Safari Express was ordered through Frankonia in 1997 and arrive here in the Fatherland in 1998. Whacked off 2+" of bbl. and had a barrel band swivel stud and barrel band front sight installed. Just wanted a more balanced piece with that monster barrel - it shoots great to the dismay of countless beasts.

Back to the powders, I'm using IMR & H-4350 w/300 grain PMP's and Nosler 260gr. BT's & AB's. Although the cases have been relaoded (shot & sized) several times and I'm using all sorts of magic tricks like a long(er) drop tube and my case vibrator to settle the powder charge I caanot get more than 75grs. of either IMR ot H powder in my Federal nickel-plated cases. Is this normal?

I'm experimenting right now with the 300 grain bullets, I've shot 260 Nosler & 270 Hornady SP but not the Barnes 270. Both the TSX and the Banded Solids have the bands on them and they're the only 300's I've tried so far so I can't compare to other bullets. I have absolutely no signs of pressure at 2500 fps in my gun with H or IMR 4350, I'm up to 78 grains of powder and the there is no case head expansion, the primers are round, the bolt falls open with the fired case under the extractor, etc.

75 grains of H or IMR 4350 seems really low to have case capacity problems with. I load without a drop tube or vibrating the cases and 78 grains of either puts the powder level just at the bottom of the case neck in my FL sized Remington brass. Pushing the long 300 grain TSX bullet in compresses that a ways but so far I've had no problems.
