98 mauser 6.5 convert to 404 jeffry?

98 mauser 6.5 convert to 404 jeffry?
I have a 98 Mauser in 6.5x55 Swede. Would it be a reasonable conversion to the 404 Jeffrey? What besides a new barrel would it take? Thanks "D"

D Hunter,

are you quite sure that the rifle is an M98? Mostly all six-and-half Swedes with mauser actions are M96, and if so, they won�t take the .404.
M98 - cocks on opening the bolt, M96 - on closing.

Most 404's are converted M-98 std. lenth actions...

They must be openned up completely in the rear and this requires new bottom metal of 375 lenth....
