Jim,thank you very much, for forwarding the article.Does the the .465 use 45 cal bullets? Do you know if the brass is available? I already have a 300 and 375 Holland. What do you think of the 465 as my big bore.

Not to hijack the thread but how far along is the 400? I haven't seen much about it but it seems to solve the majority of criticism of the 375 (high velocity, small frontal area) and could I just screw on a new barrel on my M70? Sounds like good nyati medicine.

Holland& Holland must be having trouble selling guns. It looks like they're trying reinvent and repackage the .416 Rigby and the .458 Lott. We need new DGR calibers like bulls need tits. I wish them luck, but I think this is going to be a "flash in the pan".

The .465 H&H uses the same 0.468 inch diameter bullets as the .500/.465 Nitro Express.

This oddball diameter bullet dates from the British ban on .450s in Africa and India prior to WWI.

That's also why we ended up with the .470, .475s, .476, etc., all of which are the equivalent of the .450 and .500/.450 Nitro Express class.

The .465 H&H, like its brother the .400 H&H, is only for fanatical H&H fans. It does nothing that others don't do as well or better.
