Will 400 Whelen feed off chargers?
Will 400 Whelen feed off chargers?
Specifically mausers if possible. Can five rounds fit on a stripper and will it work?

), give it a go. The clip won't break the bank, even if doesn't work.
I can't see why not either but I don't have a Whelen or five cases, just a nice action.
Yes. 35 whelen does. 30-06 does. I have lots of Mauser clips and a few Springfield ones. Both work.

roughoneThe shoulder on the 400 has a large enough OD that the standard mag box will only hold 4 down. If the box is altered to take 5 down it should work.

Agree. Same goes for about any improved '06 case. The 9.3x62 usually has the same problem.

Yes, the magazine capacity is an issue to be solved as well, but the strippers and clip slot will work. Or you can just put 4 rounds in the stripper clip...

You may find that five rounds will barely fit in the magazine, but not allow you to close the bolt over the fifth round. If this is the case, just load the last round into the chamber (If it will feed that fifth round properly), if you are comfortable with that in a given situation.
