?.500 NE 3" Trim to length?
To the .500 NE 3" reloaders.

How/with what are you using to trim-to-length?

Thanks,

Sam

I have not loaded the 500 but my sources show a trim length of 2.990"

I use a RCBS trimmer to trim my 50 caliber brass, although I am doing 500 AHR which has a smaller rim than your 500 NE. It requires a custom pilot though (as the pilots only go up to .458). You will need a 50 BMG deburr tool as well, as the "standard" deburr tool only goes to 0.458 cal. I have used 320 grit sand paper to knock off the OD burrs before, it works (be careful not to over do it though).

I may have been misleading.

I need to find the tool that is used to trim with. All that I can find goes up to .45 caliber.

Thanks for the info though.

You can get a file trim die from Huntingtons.

BIG SAM,
Forster has a model called the "Classic" which is designed specially for the big Nitro Express cartridges. I've used one for both .470NE and .500NE. Works like a charm, and will also trim "regular" cartridges.
