Ron Creusenbig bores from Johannsen or Ritterbusch
I wonder if there are members of this forum who own a rifle of one of these custom builders? I am playing with the thought of saving and plunge the cash one day to own and shoot such a rifle. My choices for a rifle are somewhat limited as I want it to be a high end rifle based on CRF and in a left hand execution.I will use it on DG and PG. It would be interesting to hear your opinions about how you feel about spending the extra cash, i.e.: is it worth spending the extra amount?

Ron Creusencome on guys, nobody who owns a Johannsen or Ritterbusch?????
I presently own a 375 and recently because of shoulder problems sold a 416 Rigby and a 500 Jeffery. They shoot extremely well and are first class quality. My 375 is for sale on consignment at Hendershot's Sporting Goods. They have some nice pictures on their web site. That said if I were going to spend Johannsen type money on a rifle again, I would have Ralf Martini of Martini Gunmakers build one for me. With the present exchange rate he will build you whatever caliber you want for about the same money.

lockingblockBumping an old topic...
I have the same question as the OP. I also noticed that Ritterbusch's website is dead and emails bounce back...still in business?
It seems to me that Ritterbusch has retired.
The one gunsmith in Germany I can recommend is Alois Mayr
www.mayr-jagdwaffen.com. He builds wonderful rifles based on Mauser action. I think especially his take downs are worth consideration.

lockingblockHis rifles are really impressive. I’m curious as to how the floor plate acts as part of his system.
