Re: controlled NOT feed (CZ)
Jim,

Some years ago I asked myself the same question. Having only John Walter's "Rifles of the World," and no such thing as the internet, I decided to take both rifles apart and see if the parts interchange.

It turned out that the only mauser part on the 600 (or 550) series rifles is the self-locking extractor. Fortunately, that is the most important part.

I'm sure Alf will give you the details on the Koucky brothers' design efforts.

Apparently all rifles are junk. That's the message I get here.

Frans,

The ejector on the CZ550 is blade located on the left side of the back of the magazine (if you look there you will see it). The Mauser is located in the bolt release lever and is diametrically opposed to the extractor, thus the need to split the top bolt lug (to clear the ejector blade).

Dr. Alf,

You have made this comment before. Would you mind how the Chay Zed "Cutsey" disqualifies itself from being a "Mauser"?

Or is there a reference?

I would like to build a Mauser sporting rifle, and I would like to educate myself on actions before choosing one.

thanks...jim
