Mauser! Double, Square Bridge Action From Sig Arms
You boys ready for this? I just received my 2002 catalogue from Sig Arms. The 500 Jeffery lists for $10,499.

Now for the real kicker. Kicker...get it? The thing weighs 8.8 lbs! Whoa!!! It'll make you forget how much you gave for it. Out of my price range, but anyone is free to will it to me.

That thing is awsome. I like it alot, but if I were to spend so much money I would rather go for a Krieghoff "Big Five" double in 500 nitro express.
But hey! Thats just me.

Ah, Denton, Texas, home of those 2 lb. porterhouse steaks, that I can't remember the name of the restaurant now. Oh well.

I've only seen one of the Mausers. It had a really bad piece of wood for a stock. I wasn't impressed. It also weighed a ton. I'm not sure their published weights turn out to be true in the end product.

Will,

Are you thinking of the Traildust or the Prarie House?

Will
Trail Dust, that's it. Thanks.

Alf:

Your pics didn't come through.

I hope you have an excellent piece of timber, which you apparently do.

I thought it was strange, though, for Sigarms to show up at last years NRA show with that rifle with a junker stock.

Especially for that kind of money.

Alf,

That's a nice looking rifle!

I need to get some crossbolts like that. I can't find them in Brownells. Anybody know where to get them?

I should say: I'm looking for a Mauser-style crossbolt with the .550 heads and .250 x .400 square section, but it needs to be longer than the standard M98 crossbolt - about 1.870 or longer

I'll make it if I have to, but it's a hassle!

Don
