Christmas wish(es)
With the onset of the Christmas season, I've started thinking about what I'd like to see from our ever attentive gun industry. First on my list is a commercially produced .458 that will fit a regular action (read standard Mauser 98) but with more case capacity than the old Win Mag. Something along the lines of the .450 Vincent. My second item is a good double for less than $2000. With the industries latest push towards the SM's, SSM's I think I stand a better chance of finding the double.

What's on your mind this year?

Since I'll be out of pocket for the next few months with limited internet access, I'll take this opportunity to wish everyone a Merry Christmas.

Regards,
Eric

I would like to see the .404 Jeffery introduced as a standard offering in the Winchester classic, BRNO, Sako and others. And if someone would put out a decent standard m/98 in that caliber I'd take that too.
Please...

RIP
Yep, great idea, the return of the 404 Jeffery to either Winchester, Ruger, CZ, or all of them, with Federal loading 404 Jeffery factory ammo. But that won't happen anytime soon.

So, I'll just keep wishing for 300 grain driving banded, FlatNosed, monometal solids in .375 caliber, and a matching 300 grain soft to go with it.

Season's greetings to all. Peace.

Here is my list:

Ruger to offer their #1 in .500 NE

A good double new for around $4000

Being able to order a 26" barrel (for a price) on guns from the major manufacturers without paying custom shop prices. Kind of like different options on cars.

I will heartily second the idea for something like the .450 Vincent short (long version too) from one of the major manufacturers as long as it is CRF.

The manufacturers giving 1% of the money from their sales to the NRA and other organizations that are fighting to protect our hunting & shooting rights.

CZ to do away with their hogback stocks & offer them in the classic style on ALL of their models (for the same price that they now get for the hogback).

Well CZ is coming out with the 458 Lott and thats a great move on their part...

Now they need a 404 Jefferys and you could load it on Saturday and shoot til Sunday with that great magazine box the CZ has, it will hold 6 rounds...You could stand off the whole Mexican Army for a month with that many shots. [Smile]
