.585 Caliber lead bullets
Dooes anyone out ther know where I might be able to obtain .585 caliber lead bullets. 650grs and bigger. If bullets not available how about moulds?

Try NEI.
Richard got a great big "pretty" one, for 800 grains. The .58 caliber balls/mould you might find "on the street" is probably .577.

I've been meaning to bore out a 50 caliber hoch mold I buggered to drop a .585" slug, but since I don't have a 585 to shoot it in, as of yet [Big Grin] I haven't been overly motivated to do the mod yet.

As was mentioned, NEI does make a mold, and I believe they are the only ones. I'm not sure about gas checks though.

There is a poster here that goes by 50BMG who has some obscene .585 diameter bullet molds for his .577 T-Rex, as I recall up to 1200 grains. Do a search and see.

Applegate made me a 58 cal "Collar Button" mould, patterned after the 45-70 mould that Lyman made. He should still have the cherry. Bullet was for fun shooting in a .577 Snider. Should be fun in something bigger too. They were 1 or 2 thou over .585, depending on alloy. I know this is lighter than you are looking for but thought it would be interesting.
