ScottSDon G & Saeed
Don,
If you feel I am a troll like some others, by all means ban me from this site. I can take the hint and will not return. Otherwise, leave me alone.
Scott

KarlDon doesn't feel you are a troll mate. He merely noted that you have the same IP address as the trolls.
There'll be a perfectly sound explanation I'm sure.
Have you noticed any shady characters living in your house the last 2 years or so?

Karl.

DRG1. We don't ban.
2. I'm only pointing out a fact that 2 user names posted from the same IP address.
Does this deserve a thread in Big Bores....probably not, but since we don't delete threads either, there it is.

RobgunbuilderOh! who are we kidding!! ScottS is a scumsucking lowlife TROLL and deserves NO SYMPATHY! We've known about his IP address for over two years now! He's about as hard to spot as the PLAGUE! Have we sunk so low as a society that we tolerate these people? Unfortunately, the CYBER age has made it possible for clowns like this to exist and they only exist because somebody believes that it doing something drastic about them it will set a precedent! Kinda like the Death Penalty. I suggest we take a poll of the posters here. If let's say 50 posters vote to have ScottS ( his IP address in fact, not his various "identities") Banned would you guys consider it?- Rob

ScottSI vote to ban ScottS! Oh yeah . . . and everyone like him!!
09 January 2004, 06:55
SaeedNo sir we would not.
In this new software, you can actually almost ban him yourself - just place him on your IGNORE list.

KarlRGB, I hope you didn't mean my post mate. I imparted my best sarcasm in it I thought.

jeffeossoScott, Axel, Todd, Judy, SRS, SOTGN, NRA Chic...
I feel you are "a troll like some others" to quote yourself. The fact that you share IP addresses with outher trolls is gilding the silly (sic)
notice, approaching troll tactic 4... decrying leaving forever...

Dago RedI don't notice enough I guess, and don't keep track of who the trolls are. Could somebody help me out with a couple of things:
1. How can I see the ip they are posting from and thereby know who is a dirty sneaky bastard? (yes, if you are posting as two identies, or more, you are trying to be sneaky, otherwise you would just logout and view the forums without your name be listed as online)
2. How can I get the forums to display the same when I am logged in as when I am not? If I am not logged in it is great, colors are fine, but I have default selected in my profile (by far better than the other color schemes) and it comes up with the unread topics in real dark grey. Ugly and annoying
Rob, I am actually with you, I think that since this is a free forum where nothing is supposed to be edited or censored it is important to ensure the freedoms of everybody wishing to participate. At the same time it is like fighting in the dark, without any way of seeing everybody else we rely on honesty in our communications, we are believing people and getting to know people without ever meeting them, always a delicate proposition. (for those like me that value trust). So people who obviously are not honest can take shots at us and screw with us at will. Maybe we don't need to ban them, maybe that encroaches too much on the freedoms here that we want. How about this...
If a person posts under more than one screenname, or changes it, the old one is listed as well, every one of them, so there is no trickiness.
Then again, how big a problem is all of this? I know that the ignore thing must work different than before, or I was not mixing on the same threads as others. I know that it got reset when we switched to the new software. for months I hadn't had to see any shit written by babbler, then all of a sudden today I had to see it again. I just added him to the ignore list again and it went away. :-) Nice feature.
Rob, I think you and I would see eye to eye on a lot of things, I too think that people are all to often not willing to take steps to eliminate a problem.

Dago RedI really do think it would be appropriate to move topics to the right forums. I sometimes want to look at and reply to a topic, this does not stop me from being pissed off that the person puts it in a spot it shouldn't be in. With the proliferation of headings available here, and especially with the existence of the Misc. forum, there is no reason for it, other than laziness or disregard. If a person just wanted to talk to a specific individual that is what the PM's and e-mail is for, they do things like this to get it out, air it for the world, and try to cause trouble, and that should get slammed to the right spot so that on the many occasions when I, and everybody else, don't want to look at it and only want to see things about 375's, 416's, 404's etc. (for instance) we don't have to look at it.
And don't anybody throw that bullshit about how,"if you don't like it don't click on it." First of all, sometimes people are purposely deceptive and give it a topic name that seems benign or interesting, like the one in African that was going on about advertising or some such crap. And secondly, I SHOULDN'T HAVE TO IGNORE SHITHEADS that feel they're so important they shouldn't have to bother catagorizing things properly.

DRGIP numbers are only seen by the moderators and the administrators. It is a management only.
As for moving threads to other forums...it would take forever to do that and there are plenty who would scream censorship, so I gave up. The insane now run this asylum.

RobgunbuilderDon- I think you acted very appropriately in confirming for the entire site the truth about ScottS. The dumb shit still hasn't figured out that people can easily find his IP address! Unfortunately there are new people to this site who get taken in by this CLOWN and don't know to discredit virtually everything he says. My concern is that eventually somebody uses his bogus load information and blows themselves up. Maybe you guys could at least add a TROLL sign to his posts so that others would know what they are dealing with. I'm also with Dago Red in that just using the ignore function is to my way of thinking actually condoning this behaviour. I'm actually not a fan of banning anything but have very strong feelings about personal integrity and honesty.-Rob
